“I have my radio on all the time. Mostly, I keep it in the kitchen and turn it up so I can hear it if I go into another room. I like to hear what’s on sale and the books at night. My favorite paper is the Cape Cod Times. Last summer, I used to take my radio out onto my deck and when my son came over, we used to listen together. Keep up the good work.” Marstons Mills
“I look forward to hearing the Cape Cod Chronicle every Thursday morning. Nancy does a wonderful job at picking the articles I most want to hear. I really like the fact that I can call in and talk with them sometimes, after the program. I am active in my community and hearing articles about my own home town has been very helpful.” Retired Teacher and Church Organist, Harwich
“I’ll tell you the truth, one of the things I like to hear from the New Bedford Standard Times are the obits. It’s a funny thing, but it’s really important to me to know who has passed away. I used to be a home teacher in the New Bedford area, and as an advocate in the community, I know an awful lot of people. I know some of the French and Portuguese names are hard to pronounce, but don’t give up on trying. You can always spell them. I also like hearing the Letters to the Editor.”
Retired MA Commission for the Blind Teacher
“I certainly do enjoy listening to both the network and local programs. I like the Network for books and afternoon and evening programming and the Harwich Oracle for the news about my community. I was really glad that Bob started his sports show and glad that it’s on every week. I am a member of both the Kiwanis and the Lions Club and take an active interest in what’s going on where I live. The Audible Local Ledger helps me keep up with the politics and the pros and cons of issues as they affect my neighborhood. I would also like to congratulate the Audible Local Ledger readers for the way they read the Cape Cod Times and the Cape Cod Chronicle. They seem to hit just the right pace. Not too fast and not too slow. You’re doing a great job!” Harwich
“Audible Local Ledger helps me wake up with a smile. I love AM Updates. “
Every Thursday afternoon, my homemaker and I sit down to lunch and listen to the Nantucket Inquirer and Mirror, on the radio. “

This program is wonderful! It will help me to adjust to the steady deteriorating macular degeneration I am experiencing. The future is much more promising to accept with the help of this radio as I am an avid reader and news “hound”. Thank you very much.
“I really love the Wareham Courier~ When the Audible Local Ledger was faced with the prospect of having to discontinue reading it was because of delivery problems, I went to the Wareham Library to see if anything could be done. I found a woman who worked there, but lived in Falmouth. She agreed to personally deliver two Wareham Couriers to the Audible Local Ledger every week. Now I can hear what the Selectmen are doing, the police and court reports and entertainment news. I am glad I could help Audible Local Ledger help me.” Wareham

Please accept the enclosed check as a donation to your wonderful organization. When my dad lost
his vision I spoke with your counterparts in Marshfield, MA. The radio receiver made such a difference
in his life. He had macular degeneration, Parkinson’s disease and pancreatic cancer. He said that not
being able to read was far worse than his other ailments. The radio brought him much happiness.
Thank you for all the great work you do! - Falmouth

I enjoy knowing what’s on sale before I go shopping. The Audible Local Ledger helps me save money at Stop and Shop, Star Market, and other local retail stores. Falmouth
Although these quotes must, for reasons of privacy, remain unsigned, they are, nonetheless, true sentiments from real people. They do not write in often, but when they do, it is very gratifying for the volunteers and for me. To be able to become a part of someone’s everyday life carries with it an awesome responsibility, which we do not take lightly. We are constantly striving to upgrade our programming and bring our listeners “all the news from their hometown.”
